Brief History of the Academic Don who is Contesting for Bayelsa West Senatorial Seat
He started at St. Savour’s Primary School, Kriegani in Rivers State and completed at St. Philip’s Primary School Burutu, in Delta State.
Mr Sapre-Obi began his post primary education at General Trades School (GTS), Emevor in Delta State, where he studied Telecommunications Technician course then finished from County High School (COHISA) Ahoada, in Rivers State where he wrote his West African School Certificate (WASC) in May/June, 1976.
In October 1976, Mr. Sapere-Obi received an Engineering Scholarship from the Ministry of Communication to study Communications Engineering in the United States. He was subsequently admitted to study Electrical Engineering at West Virginia University, Morgantown, West Virginia USA, where he was in attendance from (1977-1981). He also attended Tuskegee Institute, Tuskegee Alabama, U.S.A. (1982-1985). Mr. Sapere-Obi holds the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Electronics, Computers and Telecommunications Engineering.
Mr. Sapere-Obi began his working career in February 1972, as a Telecommunications Technician in the Post & Telecommunications Department of the Ministry of Communication (Now Nitel) where he worked in the Telephone Exchange until October 1974.

From October 1976 to July 1977 he was Assistant Technical Officer-in-training, P & T Dept Oshodi Lagos.
Xerox Corporation, Pasadena, California, USA, (1983).
Mr. Sapre-Obi worked as an Engineering Assistant summer of 1983 for XEROX Corporation in Pasadena California
Xerox Corporation, Pasadena, California, USA, (1985-1988).
In 1985, he was employed by XEROX Corporation as an electronic design Engineer, where he worked until 1988
University of Houston-Downtown, Houston, Texas, USA (1989-1990).
Mr. Sapere-Obi was a lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering Technology at the University of Houston, in Houston Texas where he taught courses in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

He was also a computer systems consultant at Texas Southern University in Houston Texas.
National Youth Service Corp (NYSC 1991-1992)
Mr. Ebipuado Sapere-Obi did his National Youth Service from 1991-1992
Okuta Computers System Ltd, (1992-2004)
On completion of his youth service, Mr. Sapere-Obi founded Okuta Computer Systems Ltd, a full service Information and Communications Technology Company where he was the Managing Director until 2004 when he joined the teaching staff of Niger Delta University

Mr. Sapere-Obi joined the Faculty of Engineering of the Niger Delta University in 2004 as a lecturer in the Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering, where he currently teaches.
Mr. Sapre-Obi has a clear idea of what is required to completely transform the Bayelsa Western Senatorial District. A good leader is one who will require the active involvement of everybody in making contributions. Yes!
