Following
the recent decision by the Federal Government of Nigeria to make it compulsory for
people across the country to wear face mask as part of measures to check the
spread of the corona virus, Bayelsa State Government h
as approved the distribution the
10,000 face mask for Bayelsans.
The ten thousand face-masks, according to the state governor,
Senator Douye Diri, would be distributed to the less-privileged and vulnerable
group across the state.
In a
statement by the Permanent Secretary of the Bayelsa State Ministry of
Information and Orientation and Member, Covid-19 Task Force, Freston Akpo,
indicates that the scheduled date of distribution and mode of distribution of
the items would be made public soon.
So far, Bayelsa
State has recorded five cases of corona-virus, while three patients have been
discharged, and three still undergoing treatment at the Okolobiri isolation
centre.
