GESI NEWS: BAYELSA ASSEMBLY PASSES THREE AMENDMENT BILLS.

The Bayelsa State House of Assembly has passed three Amendment Bills on Financial Regulations namely : the Public Procurement Amendment Bill, the Fiscal Responsibility Amendment Bill and the Debt Management Office Amendment Bill 2020. The Bills were passed on the floor of the House on Wednesday 20th May 2020.

 A press release from the Bayelsa State House of Assembly revealed that, the passage of this Amendment Bills, when assented to, will effectively position the state among governments that adhere to international public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS ).

The Speaker of the House Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere commended members of the House for painstakingly deliberating on the Bills especially in this trying times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He assured the public that the House is committed to adding value to the lives of those that have given them the mandate to represent them.
