GESI NEWS: KENEIBI OKOKO LAID TO REST
The burial rite which was done in a low key as a result of
the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic had in attendance few family members, friends,
relatives and church members.
The billionaire-politician was believed to have died due to a
failed liposuction surgery at a private hospital in Lagos on the 14th April,
2020.
He was 42 years old.
Brief
History of Pastor Keniebi Okoko
Pastor Keniebi Okoko is a trained Economist from the prestigious
University of Port Harcourt. He holds another degree in Political Science from
the renowned Carlton University in Canada.
In 2014, Okoko got a Post Graduate degree from the University
of Pennsylvania on Strategic Thinking. He also wears a Harvard Lapel Haven
participated in the Harvard Business School High Potentials Leadership
Programme in 2014 and later in 2015, participated in the HBS Finance for Senior
Executives Programme.
Okoko recently completed the Harvard Business School Owner
President Management (OPM), Management and Leadership Program which he started
in 2016.
He had carved a niche for himself in business circles and in
the corporate world as the Founder and Group Chief Executive of KDI Group, a
diversified strategic investor in key sectors of the Nigerian economy,
including Oil and Gas, Power, Infrastructure and Agriculture. KDI Group
operates with a vision to be globally recognized in every sector they invest in
as a premier institution driven by excellence.
The billionaire businessman was also a chieftain of the
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State. He was one of the front line
aspirants of PDP in the 2019 Bayelsa State governorship election where he emerged
3rd in a contest that had 21 other aspirants.
Keniebi Okoko was a loving father, a devoted Christian and
one of the leading pastors at the popular Salvation Ministries Church in Port
Harcourt.
He was the son of Emeritus Political Science Professor and
Ijaw leader, Professor Kimse Okoko. His father is also the Pro-Chancellor
of the University of Uyo and former President of the Ijaw National Congress
(INC).
Pastor Keniebi Okoko, before his unfortunate death, was a successful
businessman, philanthropist and a major financial supporter of Salvation
Ministries in Port Harcourt.
